History & Background

The journey of Madina Degree College began on 16 December 1993 when the foundation stone of the College building was laid by Janab Moulana Mohd. Hameeduddin Husaini. The facility was inaugurated on 6 Sept 1994, by Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Chairman, al-Ameen Educational Society, Bangalore and Dr. K.Keshav Rao, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Technological Mission with a Vision to provide a distinct environment of excellence in higher education to Muslim minority women with humane values & social commitment. It was Mr. K. Narayan Rao, Founder Principal, who carried on the baton of this institution with resolute dedication for 9 long years followed by Mrs. Arifa Sultana, for 8 years with great interest.

To meet the growing demand for Higher Education, particularly among Muslim Minority women, Madina Education & Welfare Society (MEWS) had established Madina Junior College for girls in 1983, Madina Degree College for women in 1994, and Madina PG College in 2013 with good infra-structural facilities.

This education yatra began with 40 students in 1994-95 to pursue UG courses- viz., B. Sc – Microbiology, Botany, Chemistry, (MBC), Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry, (MZC), Genetics, Botany, Chemistry, (GBC), Genetics, Zoology, Chemistry (GZC) and B Com.

1994 is momentous for Degree College for first affiliation of B. Sc and B. Com by Osmania University.
